M’luru: Three held for assault on police personnel

Three persons have been arrested for allegedly assaulting policemen on night patrol duty at Chilimbigudde here.

The arrested identified as Durgesh, Prajwith and Rakshith were produced before the court on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody

The incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday when the police on patrol duty questioned the youth for drinking liquor in a public place at Chilimbi Gudde. At this time, a few of them behaved inappropriately and even assaulted the cops. They later fled from the spot.

Two policemen — Venkatesh and Dhananjay were injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment at Wenlock hospital.
