M’luru voilence: ‘Case should be registered against police who opened fire’

Mangaluru: The December 19 golibar victims justice forum on Wednesday, February 5 demanded that a case should be registered against those police officer who opened fire at two persons who were taking part in protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Addressing presspersons here the president of the forum, Abdul Jaleel Krishnapur said, “A criminal case should be filed against those police officers who opened fire and lathi-charged people, who were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act.”

He further said that Rs 25 lakh for the kin of the deceased and 15 lakh to those injured during lathi-charge should be released by the government.”

“Case filed against the two persons -Nausheed and Abdul Jaleel- who were were killed during the firing should be dropped,” said Abdul.

On December 19, two persons who were taking part in protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act were killed and several others were injured after police opened fire on the protesters.
