Mangaluru: A young woman has filed a complaint at Kadri Police Station, alleging sexual assault, theft, and blackmail by a man who initially offered help.

The woman claimed that Mohammad Shafeen, a biker, had assisted her on July 21 when her car broke down in Kadri. Shafeen repaired her vehicle and later dropped her at her residence in an apartment at Kodialbail, during which he obtained her phone number.

On August 8, when the woman’s refrigerator broke down and since she was residing alone the victim called Shafeen for assistance. He brought an electrician to fix it and later returned with fruits and juice. The woman alleged that after consuming the juice, she fell unconscious and later discovered that she had been sexually assaulted. Shafeen threatened her with videos he claimed to have recorded and demanded further cooperation, warning of dire consequences if she resisted. He also took possession of her car.

Break-in, Theft, and Threats

On October 25, the woman’s family sought to retrieve the car. When they visited Shafeen’s apartment in Deralakatte, they found the vehicle in the parking lot. After getting his address from the watchman, they requested Shafeen’s mother to return the car, but his brother, Mohammad Shiyab, allegedly attempted to sexually assault the woman and issued death threats.

Later, on October 27, Shafeen allegedly unlawfully entered the woman’s home at night and stole Rs 62,000 in cash from her bag.

The woman has urged the police to take strict legal action against Shafeen and Shiyab. Following her complaint, Shiyab’s wife allegedly called and issued further threats. The woman has filed an additional complaint against her, demanding action.

Police have registered cases and initiated a thorough investigation into the allegations.
