Mangaluru: Former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday, January 21 raised suspicion that the bomb incident in Mangaluru was a deliberate attempt on the part of the state government to intimidate the public.
Terming the detonation of the bomb at Kenjar ground a mock drill ahead of the Republic Day, Kumaraswamy quoted media reports stating that the iron box contained white powder used for making firecrackers. “The entire operation to diffuse the bomb was carried out from morning to dusk. No proper protocol was followed. The box probably contained face powder,” he said.
Further, he added that the state government is trying to create a sense of fear among the public through the bomb. He urged the government not to disturb the communal harmony in the state and initiate strict action against the guilty.
