Modi government is 90% corrupt, says Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s about the Karnataka government being a “10% commission Sarkar,” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday propelled a rankling attack on the NDA government at the Center, depicting it as “90% corrupt”.
Answering to the motion of gratitude to Governor Vajubhai Vala, Mr. Siddaramaiah said there was no substance in Mr. Modi’s remark on the State government. “There is no evidence to demonstrate the Prime Minister’s charge. Where are the records?” he inquired. Under the Indian Evidence Act, he stated, the weight lies on the individual who makes the assertion. He named the Modi regime an “hit and run” government.
The Chief Minister stated, “I can likewise make assertions that the Modi government is 90% corrupt… I needed to put forth this expression outside, yet I will do as such in the House. The past BJP government in the State was the most corrupt, and four of its Ministers went to imprison.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Parivarthana Yatra public rally in Bengaluru recently, had accused that the Congress government was a “10% commission government” that was at the exit gate now.
Mr. Siddaramaiah said Mr. Modi’s own party leaders were “influencing him to lie”. He included that Modi was just repeating what BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa had said in his speeches.
The Chief Minister’s comments provoked BJP individuals to bring their voice up in the House. A heated argument followed amongst BJP and Congress individuals even as Mr. Siddaramaiah proceeded with his outburst against the past BJP administration in the State. He said his government did not require any lessons on governance from a party which had four Ministers go to jail for corruption.
Triggering another question at Mr. Modi over corrupted VIP businessman Nirav Modi escaping the nation, Mr. Siddaramaiah charged that the Union government was looking the other way when the tycoon jeweller utilized his clout with the Prime Minister to slip out of the nation and take ₹11,000 crore. He contrasted the case with those with alcohol aristocrat Vijay Mallya and previous Indian Premier League administrator Lalit Modi, a close partner of the Rajasthan Chief Minister. “What’s going on with the Union government?” he inquired.

Dissatisfied with the Chief Minister’s words, BJP members shouted slogans and dramatically walked out of the house.
