New Delhi/Bengaluru: Interacting with Karnataka’s BJP women units through his mobile application, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday requesting that they promote his government’s schemes ahead of the May 12 Assembly elections.

Listing various women-oriented schemes promoted by the Centre, Modi asked them to connect with other women across each of the state’s 224 constituencies.

“We have to uncover the false promises made by the Congress and desire the general population of Karnataka to join the voyage of development,” Modi told the Bharatiya Janata Party women workers through the Narendra Modi mobile application.

“We will win the elections, yet for us (BJP) it is critical to win the polling booth,” he said.

The BJP-drove Union government is enthusiastic about giving equivalent chances to women in the general public and needs to help them at each stage, regardless of whether they need to be a homemaker,  job seeker or job creator, added Modi in the 40-minute audio-video interaction.

An expected nine crore ladies the nation over have profited from the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) scheme, which gives advances to micro and small scale enterprises, he said.

About Rs 12 crore worth loans have been given out under the PMMY scheme, of which more than 70 percent recipients were women, the Prime Minister said.

Projects like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which gives LPG gas to ladies from below poverty line (BPL) family units, have likewise profited a few women, he included.

Modi featured that the central government had expanded the paid maternity leave from the prior 12 weeks to 26 weeks for ladies.
