Bengaluru: A man who had kidnapped a 34-year-old lady from Majestic where she was waiting for a bus has been arrested by Annapoorneshwari Nagar police on Thursday. The accused has been recognized as Shashidhar J alias Shashi, 34, of Kurubarahalli.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Ravi D Channanavar said, “We have arrested Shashidhar, who is an auto-rickshaw driver. We will bring him into police custody for further examination and discover who his partner was.”
A 34-year-old lady was kidnapped by two men on a bike and molested on July 12. Channanavar assured that the police are addressing Shashidhar and a group of officers are trying to find the second man.
The lady, who is a resident of Hoskote, had filed a complaint with the police saying that she was on the way to Hoskote from Mangaluru and was waiting for a bus at Majestic. While she was waiting, a man moved toward her for sex offering money. The lady began to walk away. She was crossing the road when he returned with another man on a bike and tied her mouth with her dupatta.
They took her on the bike and molested her. When the lady managed to untie her dupatta and cry for help, they were at Narasapura town of Sriganda Kaval near Jnanabarathi.
The next day, she filed a complaint with the police.
