Monkey fever: Vaccines distributed

Udupi: The programme to give vaccine to government employees regarding monkey fever was started on Tuesday. In the first phase, the vaccine was provided to 235 staff belonging to the forest department, ANF and animal husbandry departments of Kundapur taluk. In the second phase, the vaccine was given to the people living having contact with the forest and other, inform sources.
4 carcasses found
Including 2 carcasses from Hebri and 1 found in Vandse on Wednesday, the total number of monkey carcasses found in the district is 4. Of these, the sample of the carcass found in Hebri has been sent for lab tests.
Manipal: 22 patients undergoing treatment
Around 136 patients from Sagar and surrounding areas have been admitted into Manipal hospital. 4 patients were admitted due to a relapse. Reports have confirmed monkey fever infection in 53 patients while 85 patients have shown negative results. 111 patients have been released from the hospital and 22 patients have received treatment. Of them, one patient has been readmitted. 2 patients from Hosanagara have been treated for swine flu and then released, informed a release.
