Beltangady: A farmer in Beltangady has found a unique solution to protect his coconut crop from the monkeys.
Kunjanna alias Kunja Moolya, a farmer from Padmunja village of the taluk cut the asbestos sheets and tied them to the centre part of the coconut tree. He also cut the palm branches, so that the monkeys are unable to jump from one tree to another.
This technique not only prevents monkeys from destroying the tree it also prevents the rats from climbing up the tree.
After Kunjanna many other farmers of the taluk are also started using the technique to save their crops from monkeys.
