Mangaluru: The rains are to arrive earlier this year. The meteorological department has predicted monsoon to enter Kerala on May 29 this year.
Monsoon is expected to appear three days in advance this year. The department expects monsoon wind to pass through Andaman Island in Bay of Bengal on May 23 and reach Kerala on May 29.
On the other hand, the cyclonic storm titled “Sagar” that was created out of fall in atmospheric pressure over Arabian Sea has been moving towards the Gulf.
The department informed of the possibility of another low pressure area being created over the sea. A clear picture about the new low pressure area being created over the sea will emerge in a couple of days.
Prof S M Gavaskar, scientist at Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, said that the rain Karnataka is currently experiencing has nothing to do with this cyclone. He said that that this cyclonic storm will not have any effect on coastal Karnataka.
