Monti Fest: Special trains to Velankanni

Udupi: In the backdrop of the special celebrations for Monti Fest at Velankanni on Sep. 8th, the South West railways (SWR) will be providing a special train that will travel from Vascodagama in Goa via Udupi and Mangaluru to Velankanni.
The special train will commence its journey from Vascodagama on Aug. 27th, Sep. 3rd and Sep. 9th at morning 11:20 am, arrive at Udupi in the evening at 5:10 pm and reach Velankanni the next day in the afternoon at 1 pm.
Return journey
On its return journey, the special train will leave Velankanni in the night at 11:45 pm on aug. 29th, Sep 3rd, 8th and 9th, and reach Udupi the next day, in the evening at 4:55 pm following which it will carry on with its journey to Vascodagama. Since this train travels through Thanjavur, Hindu’s too can make use of this train and visit the famous Shri Brahadishwara temple. The travelers need to make use of this facility, said Udupi Railway Passenger Association President R.L. Dais in a press release.
