Moodabidri: Man killed in accident while returning home after employer’s funeral

Moodabidri: In a tragic incident a man was killed in a road accident at Gandhinagar here while returning after attending his employer’s funeral.

The deceased has been identified as Vinay (48), a resident of Handelu Kapikad in Puttige village.

Vinay, who worked as a beedi branch assistant, had been to participate in his employer Sanjeeva’s last rites at Gandhinagar on Monday. While returning home after the funeral, a car hit him while crossing the road near Gandhinagar, sources said.

Though he was rushed to Udupi District Hospital, he passed away on Tuesday morning without responding to treatment. He is survived by his wife and a young son, sources added.
