Reportedly, the trio on Tuesday, August 30 at around 10:30 PM had barged into the house of a lonely woman named Kamala, a resident of Berinje Gudde of Ashwathapura, Moodabidri. They had allegedly physically assaulted Kamala with a machete and stolen gold ornaments and fled the spot.
Based on this, a case was filed in the Moodabidri Police Station.
Later, a team of police was formed by Mangaluru CCB to track the whereabouts of the miscreants and nab them.
When the miscreants were on their way to Mangaluru to sell the stolen jewellery, the CCB police nabbed the trio at the Kulashekhar Church gate. The police recovered materials worth Rs. 4.5 lakhs which includes the stolen ornaments, two scooters, three mobile phones, one machete, and two monkey caps.
As per the police sources, the trio were of the idea that Kamala was a lonely woman and that nobody would come to help her and inform the police.
Among the miscreants, Dinesh had acted as if he would help the woman, while she was attacked, said the police sources.
It is also learned that Sukesh Poojary was already booked under POCSO and attempt to murder case at Moodabidri and Manipal, respectively.
