In a heartening turn of events, the search for the missing youth who ventured on a trek to Ballala Raya Durga and Bhandaje Falls has ended on a positive note. The youth, identified as Dhanush, was reported missing early Sunday morning while exploring Bhandaje Falls with a group of friends.
According to reports, the group of youths set out to visit the falls, but during the trek, Dhanush became separated from the group. Despite attempts to contact him via mobile phone, poor network coverage hindered communication. Quick to react, the companions walked to Sunka Sale village and promptly alerted the authorities by dialing 112 to report Dhanush’s disappearance.
Upon receiving the call, the police swiftly mobilized three search teams to locate the missing youth. The search operation commenced from the spot where Dhanush was last seen and extended into the surrounding forest areas. After approximately three and a half hours of intensive search efforts, Dhanush was discovered standing alone in a dense forest region approximately 700 feet below his last known location.
Relieved and reassured, the police promptly identified Dhanush and provided him with the necessary support and comfort. Following the successful rescue operation, the authorities contacted Dhanush’s parents to inform them of the positive outcome and arranged for his safe return to Mangalore.
The search operation was conducted with the assistance of dedicated police personnel Mehboob Sadhani Shankar Bovi and local volunteers.
