Mortal remains of martyred Mandya braveheart reaches B’luru

Bengaluru: The mortal remains of martyred Mandya CRPF jawan Guru H was flown in by a special Army aircraft to HAL airport in the city today at around 12.55 pm.
Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, state Home Minister MB Patil, Union Minister Sadananda Gowda, Shobha Karandlaje, Arvind Limbavali and others paid tribute to the martyred soldier at the airport. His body was later taken to his native Gudigere Village in Mandya by road for last rites.
Guru, son of Honnayya from Gudigere village in Maddur taluk of the district, was among the over 2,500 jawans travelling in the convoy of 78 vehicles, many of them returning from leave to rejoin duty in the Valley when they were ambushed by the militants on the Srinagar-Jammu highway on February 14.
