Mother commits suicide with two children

Hebri: A woman has committed suicide after giving poison to two of her little kids. The heart-rending incident has taken place at Matibetti in Varanga village within station limits. The deceased have been identified as Deepa (35) wife of Santosh and their two daughters Shreya (9) studying the 3^rd std and Priya (6) pursuing UKG.

Apparently, Deepa was suffering from a form of uterus problem and even after medication her condition failed to improve. Hence she must have committed the extreme action, is the reason on which the case has been filed at Hebri police station.

Hebri station inspector Mahabala Shetty and other police officials have visited the location.

They had dinner together

Santosh, who is originally from Shimoga district as running a chicken farm business at Karkala and on Saturday had returned home in the evening, had his dinner with the family at 8:45 pm and retied to sleep. In the night around 10:30 pm, the children complained of a burning sensation in their stomach and also started vomiting. Immediately, the children were taken to Karkala hospital. At the hospital, Deepa informed that she had given poison to the children and hence the kids were swiftly shifted to Manipal hospital. On Sunday, the trio breathed their last here. A case in this regard has been registered with Hebri police.

Poison administered through milk

It is being said that Deepa had given poisoned milk to her kids even before her husband had arrived.

Will go to school Appa!

It is being said that Shreya, even in her precarious condition and fight for her life spoke to her dad at around 10 am on Sunday and said, “I will go to school Appa”.
