Mother cow chases cattle thieves who stole her calf

Chikmagalur: In a singular incident in the district, an irate mother cow chased the cattle thieves who stole her calf. The incident took place on the backside of the bus stand in Koppa taluk.
On Thursday night, three cattle thieves came in a Mahindra Xylo car to Koppa town to steal a calf. During this time they attempted to stuff a young calf into the car. But, the calf escaped from the clutches of the thieves. Meanwhile the mother cow which saw the calf being stuffed into the car lost all steam and started chasing the car.
This unique incident has been recorded in the CCTV camera installed nearby the location of the attempted theft.
The thieves who attempted to catch the calf were thought a befitting lesson by the mother cow even before they were able to catch the calf. The mother cow raging in left the thieves in a state of shock.
The thieves haven’t been identified since they were wearing face masks. In recent times, unrestricted cattle theft is occurring at various locations along Malnad. It remains to be seen what action will be taken by the police.
