Mother, daughter murder accused nabbed

Somwarpete: The man who brutally murdered a mother and her daughter at Doddamalte village near here has been arrested by the police, the accused is identified as Dilip (39), a resident of Doddamalte. He has admitted that he committed the murder in connection to the dispute over property.
On Tuesday morning around 10:30 am, Doddamalte resient Late Veera Raju’s wife Kavita (45) and her daughter Jagashree (17) were standing near the gated of the coffee estate when they were brutally hacked to death by the accused who later went and sat at his chicken shop.
Under the guidance of SP Sumana D Pannekar, DySP Dinakar Shetty, Somwarpete Circle Inspector Nanjunde Gowda and Inspector Shivashanker successfully nabbed the accused.
Case background
Dilip was constructing a new house near the property belonging to Kavita. There is a path which leads to the house, but via Kavita’s property. It is being said that, earlier too there was a dispute in connection to the path and regular fights have broken out between them. Kavita had also filed a complaint against Dilip at Somwarpete police station in this connection. A case was booked based on the complaint. The investigation has revealed that the murder was a result of grudge the accused held against the victim, inform the police.
