Bengaluru: An incident of a mother killing her 10-year-old daughter by hanging and later hanging herself was reported on Tuesday.

The deceased are identified as Shaima (36), a dentist by profession, and her daughter Aradhana (10), studying in class 4.

The incident took place two days ago. Shaima’s husband Narayan, (who is also a dentist) had left for the clinic in the morning. At 12 noon, when he called Shaima, she did not receive the phone call. Upon returning home, Narayan found that the door was locked and there was no response. He thus broke open the door to find both Shaima and his daughter hanging.

Shaima’s brother who had flown back from Australia raised suspicions about their death and filed a complaint with the police on Monday.

However, the police have not recovered the death note.

Currently, a case is registered in the Banashankari Police Station and the investigation is on.

Suicide is preventable. If you get any such thoughts, consult or seek expert help.
