Mother of newborn baby girl hangs self

Puttur: A 36-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her parental residence at Malar in Kuriya village of Puttur taluk on November 24, Saturday.

The deceased Veena is the daughter of Keshava Acharya. She was married to Umesh Acharya, a resident of Vamadapadavu and had given birth to their second daughter just two and a half months ago.

It is gathered that Veena had recently come to her parent’s house for her delivery of her child. On Saturday morning, her family members went to her room as the baby was crying continuously only to find Veena hanging from the ceiling using her chudidar shawl.
