Motorists and pedestrian die in collision

Surathkal: Two youths lost their lives after a two-wheeler hit a pedestrian here at Honnakatte near Suratkal on Monday, November 12. The deceased have been identified as Akshay (24), a resident of Kuthar Subhash Nagar and Narayana Kulal (27), a resident of Honnakatte.

According to the available information, Akshay was travelling on his motorcycle towards Mangaluru from Suratkal. The tragedy occurred hen the motorcycle hit pedestrian Narayana Kulal while the latter was crossing the road near Honnakatte signal. After hitting the pedestrian the motorcycle hit the road divider.

The impact of the collision was such that the pedestrian Narayana Kulal died on the spot, while the bike rider Akshay, who sustained grievous injuries, was rushed to the hospital. However, he failed to respond to the given treatment and lost his battle for life.

A case in this regard has been registered with the Mangaluru North Police.
