Nellikaru Prasad Vijay Shetty, who took up a trek to Mount Satopanth in the Himalayan Range, hoisted the Tulunadu flag alongside the national flag at about 7,075 m. at Mount Everest.
Satopanth is located in Uttarakhand, in the midst of snow-capped peaks at an altitude of 4,600 metres (15,100 ft) above sea level.
The 5-member expedition team was led by Prasad Vijay Shetty. The expedition was taken up to train professional mountaineers.
Due to extreme weather, the 21-day expedition had to be halted in a 6,000-meter climb at Satopanth Summit Base Camp. They unfurled the Tulunadu flag alongside the national flag at the summit. This gesture has been appreciated by many.
