MP: 2 engineers suspended, 1 transferred over damage to bridge built under PMGSY

Seoni (MP): Days after the overflowing Wainganga river washed away a bridge built over it, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) near Sunwara village here, the CEO of MP Rural Road Development Authority (MPRRDA) suspended two engineers while another has been transferred.
Engineers GP Mehra and his assistant SK Agrawal, who held the posts of general manager and assistant manager were suspended on Tuesday while Sonal Rajak, sub-engineer and in-charge of supervision of the bridge was transferred from Seoni, officials said.
The incident took place on Sunday, August 30.
The 150-metre-long bridge was built on Barabaspur Harduli- Sunwarafor road, some 60 kms away from the district headquarters, with the cost of Rs 3 crore, officials said, adding it was yet to be inaugurated. Construction of the bridge had started two years ago and was completed in the last month.
