A clerk with Madhya Pradesh water resources department was on Thursday held for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a man to clear the latter’s mother’s provident fund claim, a Lokayukta special police establishment official said.
Clerk GK Pillai (56) of the electrical engineering wing had sought the bribe to clear the PF of one Neena Saxena, Bhopal Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Manu Vyas told PTI.
”He had sought Rs 40,000 from the woman’s son, who was the nominee to her PF. She had worked with the water resources department and had died some time ago. A trap was laid and Pillai was held under the Prevention of Corruption Act,” he said.
