Manipal: To facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles in the Santhekatte Vehicular Overpass area, regular wet mix should be applied, and it should be supervised daily. As soon as the rains subside, the work should commence and be completed quickly, directed MP Kota Srinivas Poojary to the district administration and National Highway Authority officials.

Due to the ongoing overpass work at Santhekatte, vehicle drivers and locals have been facing issues. “Udayavani” had published a series of reports on this issue. Following these reports, the MP had held a meeting with district and highway authority officials but noted no changes. Hence, another meeting was held on Saturday at the district office, led by the Regional Officer of the Highway Authority.

Instructions to Revise Map

The Member of Parliament (MP) instructed the officials to update the design of the underpass at Ambalapady Circle, based on the Karavali Bypass model. The current design has too narrow, so it needs to be revised, and a new estimated map should be prepared. The highway authorities were also told to create a wider underpass that does not obstruct vehicle movement.

Land Acquisition Final Stage

The land acquisition process for widening the Malpe-Adi Udupi road is in the final stage. As soon as this is completed, the next activities will begin, informed the officials. MP Poojary instructed them to complete this as soon as possible.

MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Kiran Kodgi, DC Dr. K. Vidyakumari,  land acquisition officials, engineers, and related department officials were present.

Start Indrali Bridge Work in 15 Days

The Indrali Railway Overbridge work should start within the next 15 days. It is pointless to keep citing technical issues. The work should commence as soon as the rains subside, directed the MP.
