Bengaluru: MTR assembled 60 chefs from MTR and Lorman Kitchen Equipments at their factory in Bommasandra on Saturday. Their goal? To cook a record-breaking mega dosa, an impressive 123 feet long, using MTR’s signature red rice dosa batter.
Supported by a team of 75 experienced and aspiring chefs, they surpassed the previous record of 54 feet, setting a new world record.
The culinary spectacle was a highlight of MTR’s centennial festivities.
Sunay Bhasin, CEO of MTR, expressed pride in dosa’s significance to the brand’s heritage and its widespread popularity globally. He emphasized dosa’s ability to appeal to consumers of all ages, transcending cultural boundaries.
Chandra Mouli, Managing Director of Lorman Kitchen Equipments, highlighted the creation of the world’s longest induction hot-plate (tawa) as a step towards sustainable cooking practices. This achievement not only promotes efficiency and eco-friendliness but also ensures a safer environment for chefs, fostering a culture of sustainability within larger cooking communities.
