Mangaluru: Following the district administration’s order not to allow vehicles from Kerala into the city and the police manning major entry points, few people have been using interior roads to enter into the city.
In order to forbid this, villagers jointly with police officials blocked three inner roads at Konaje which provide road connectivity with Kerala by creating mud barriers.
JCB machines were used to create the mud barriers on the Bakrabailu-Pathur road connecting Mangaluru-Vittal, inner road at Sulliame that goes to Mudipu and Hosangadi and Poyathabail road that goes from Mudipu to Daigoli.
Concerns are being raised after 44 cases of coronavirus has been reported in Kasargod district. As most of Kasaragod residents frequently come to Mangaluru, the possibility of others being infected by COVID-19 carriers has led to decision of sealing borders at the moment.
