Social activist Snehamayi Krishna has lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta SP, accusing MLA G.T. Devegowda of misusing his influence in connection with alleged irregularities in the 50:50 site allocation by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

The complaint alleges that compensation was unlawfully awarded for land involved in a court dispute. Using his influence, G.T. Devegowda reportedly facilitated the allocation of six plots totaling 44,736 square feet in the name of an individual named Choudayya. Among these, two plots in Vijayanagar 4th Stage were allegedly acquired and subsequently purchased by Devegowda’s daughter Annapoorna and son-in-law Visveshwaraiah.

The complaint further claims that the plots were categorized as government land in the RTC records and were still under litigation. Despite this, the MLA’s family reportedly managed to acquire the sites. It is also alleged that the land in question did not fall under MUDA’s jurisdiction but was included under the guise of compensation for Devanur Layout. The activist has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.

Responding to the allegations, MLA G.T. Devegowda clarified that his daughter and son-in-law purchased the sites from individuals who had acquired them through MUDA’s 50:50 scheme, adhering to all legal procedures. Speaking to the media on Saturday morning, Devegowda said, “I was unaware of this matter until my daughter informed me today. Those who received the sites legally have the right to sell them. If a complaint has been filed with the Lokayukta, I welcome the investigation. If any wrongdoing is found, let it be addressed.”

The MLA also expressed support for Snehamayi Krishna, stating, “Snehamayi is a good young activist fighting against corruption. I wish him success in his efforts to hold wrongdoers accountable.”
