Mudabidri: 5 from family go missing, case registered

Mudabidri: Five members of a family including three children have gone missing from Karinje near here.

The missing persons have been identified as Jyothi Mani (36), Manoranjitham (56), Debora (11), Jude Emmanuel (10), and Hepsibha (8). All five members are the residents of Swarnanagara in Karine.

Jayaraj Shekar, husband of Jyothimani has filed a complaint regarding this at the Mudabidri police station.

Shekar informed that his wife, three kids, and mother-in-law had gone missing with about Rs 1.40 lakhs in cash and gold ornaments that were kept in the locker.

As per reports, Shekar’s wife had mortgaged her gold ornaments without the knowledge of her husband. She had availed a loan of Rs 1.80 lakhs upon the mortgaged ornaments and had handed it over to a friend.

Once Shekar was aware of this, he asked her to bring back the gold ornaments. Following this, all five people from the family went missing.
