Mulki: Police said that three have been arrested for the assault on a youth at Mulki’s Kerekadu village.
In a statement, Mangaluru Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, on Sunday, said that the accused have been identified as Divyesh Devadiga(38), Rajesh, and Yogishkumar alias Yogish (46) all residents of Kerekadu Kenchana Kere.
They have been slapped with charges under IPC sections relevant to rioting, and intentionally causing harm. They have also been produced before the magistrate, the police commissioner said.
It may be recalled that a 25-year-old man was caught, tied to a pole, and beaten up on Saturday, December 17 on the pretext of stalking and misbehaving with a girl a few days earlier.
The youth is currently in custody and a POCSO case has been registered against him, the police commissioner added.
