Mulki: A youth created a high drama on Saturday by climbing a mobile tower allegedly in protest against the “bad roads in Bijapur and Bagalkot.”

At around 9 a.m. on Saturday, members of the public were shocked to see a youth climbing a mobile tower at the industrial area near Sri Koragajja Kshetra. Police and the fire brigade were called in for assistance. The rescue team, using megaphones, counseled the youth and tried persuading him with several assurances. The youth remained aloof to these attempts.

After about 4 hours of effort, the high drama ended after the youth climbed down on his own.

The youth was later identified as Satish (24), a native of Jewargi in Vijayapura. When inquired about his motive he reportedly told the rescuers that he was protesting against the bad roads and other issues plaguing Bijapur and Bagalkot.
