Mumbai police add a twist to Bollywood songs in a PSA

Mumbai Police never fails to impress when it comes to giving contemporary memes and diverse parts of pop culture a creative and relevant spin. This time, law enforcement organisations used a parody of a Hindi song to remind people not to drink and drive, and it’s spot on!
With ‘Tune on Safety,’ the police force, which previously utilised Bollywood dialogue-inspired PSAs to raise awareness about Covid-19, this time used party songs to promote driving norms. The cops published four photos on social media, ranging from Yo Yo Honey Singh’s ‘Chaar Botal Vodka’ to ‘Main Sharabi.’
When they changed the lyrics of ‘Ganpat Chal Daru La’ from ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’ to encourage people to call a cab when they’re drinking, they used another song, ‘Rum-Whisky’ from ‘Vicky Donor,’ to emphasise the dangers of driving while inebriated.
“Zara Sa Vrooom Loon Main?” the agency stated online, “Are Na Re Na Re Na!” in reference to Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s iconic song from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Many people were taken aback by the post, which not only impressed them with their brilliant wordplays, but also with the clever notion of using songs that promote drinking to raise awareness.
