Murder over Rs 1200 unpaid loan: Police arrest 12 accused teenagers, including 3 minors

Bengaluru: Konanakunte Police arrested 12 teenagers for the murder over a dispute for returning a Rs 1200 loan amount.
Police arrested Kiran (19), Pavan (19), Karthik (19), Manikanta (19), Pavan Kumar (20), Abhishek (19), Anil Kumar (20), Munesh Kumar (19), Shashank (18), and three minor juvenile boys.
They have been accused of killing 19-year-old Mehboob Jilani, a TV mechanic from Chunchanakatte near Konanakunte on Tuesday, January 4.
A person named Lalith had taken a Rs 1500 loan from Manikanta 6 months ago for opening an account on a mobile app of which Rs 300 was returned. There were clashes between Manikanta and Lalith about the outstanding amount.
On Tuesday, January 4 a fight erupted between groups of friends over the issue. Kiran and a few others confronted Jilani when he was hanging out with his friends. They fought over the unpaid loan and in the melee, the group stabbed Jilani and fled from the spot. Jilani later died at a hospital. where the 12 youngsters had attacked Jilani with weapons and ended up killing him.
