Murder-suicide of debt-ridden family: Police arrest five abetment

Bengaluru: The police arrested five persons, including three women, were arrested on charges of abetting the murder-suicide of a family in Vibhutipura, near HAL.

The arrested are Sudha, Manju, his mother Daisy, Prabhavathi and Ram Bahadur. They were Babu’s neighbors and had demanded Geetha return their money.

On Sunday, Suresh Babu, 48, had killed his 12-year-old son by hanging him and then forced his wife to Geetha hang herself but at the last minute, he changed his mind about killing himself and told police his wife and son had committed suicide.

However his minor daughter filmed the episode on a phone to reportedly tell the world their ordeal.

Meanwhile, police have also registered a case against a TV news channel reporter for allegedly airing the video showing Babu hanging his son.
