Mutaliated body found in Surathkal; two arrested

Mangaluru: Two persons have been arrested in murder charges of a man at Chokkabettu bridge in Suratkal.

 The police have arrested two persons in connection to the brutal murder of man whose body found in a drain canal under Chokkabettu bridge in Suratkal on June 2.

The accused have been identified as Gowdappa Gowda Sannagowdra (55) from Bagalkot and Hullappa Basappa Soodi (28) from Koppal.

The deceased has been identified as Mariappa (45).

It has been reported that, a body was found under the bridge on June 2 with his upper body. Later, the lower part of the body was found in the drain.

It has been learnt that the three, Gowdappa, Hullappa and Mariappa lived in the same room. Gowdappa allegedly owed money to Mariappa. There was fight over money between them, and the two accused allegedly murdered Mariappa. 

The two accused have been remanded in judicial custody.
