The alleged case is of Lank village under Phugana police station in the district.

According to the prosecution, Abdul Waheed and his daughter-in-law Rahisa were allegedly burnt to death and his son Tahir was killed using sharp weapons on September 8, 2013.

Waheed’s son Mohd. Akhter had lodged an FIR in this regard and the Special Investigation Team had chargesheeted 15 people. Two of the accused died during the trial.

This is the forth case from the Muzaffarnagar riots in which all the accused were acquitted.

The widespread communal clashes in the district had left nearly 60 dead and thousands displaced.
