Muzaffarnagar: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly poisoned to death by her in-laws over dowry demand at Nawla village in Muzzafarnagar, police said Thursday.

Circle Officer Rajive Kumar Singh said a case has been registered against the woman’s husband Nitin kumar, father in-law Rakesh, mother in-law Dulari and brother in-law Sachin.

He said they are absconding. Minu married Nitin four years ago.

In his complaint lodged with the police, Baburam, the father of the deceased, has said his daughter was being harassed for a motorbike and cash as dowry.

Police said Minu was rushed to a hospital Wednesday where she was declared dead by the doctors.
