Mysuru: P Mahadevaswamy of Nagavalli Village in Chamarajanagar has really demonstrated that nothing is difficult to achieve if one works diligently. Despite working as a daily wager for his daily needs, this graduate of the Mysore University won 14 gold medals and 3 cash prizes at the 102nd convocation of the university.
P Mahadevaswamy, lost his father Puttabasavaiah 20 years ago when he was an infant. The responsibility of raising him was shouldered by his mother Nagamma and elder brother. After joining college, he worked as a daily wager during his free time to supplement the meagre income his mother earned.
Even with these hardships, Mahadevaswamy has achieved a rare feat. In the MA Kannada course of Mysore University, he scored 1963 marks out of the total 2200. Thus earning the top spot and winning 14 gold medals.
Mahadevaswamy dedicated his academic success to his mother and the professors of the university. Talking about his future goals, he said that he aspires to complete his doctoral studies and thereafter attempt the civil service examinations conducted by the state and union governments in the country.
