Bengaluru: With only a couple of months left to witness the grandeur of “Mysuru Dasara”, the state government has decided to organize the event on a grand scale, this year.

Addressing a media in Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, “We are planning to create ‘Brand Mysuru’ during this time around. Within a week, the Mysuru Tourism circuit will be decided with the help of the Tourism Department and private players. Touring and stay will be fixed under one ticket. For this, we are developing a website”.

“Due to Covid, for the past two years, there were several restrictions. This time, the Dasara event will be celebrated in a grand manner. All the rituals and events will be back in action”, he added.

Speaking about the events, CM Bommai said, “Around 15 days prior to the start of the Dasara celebrations, the exhibition center will be inaugurated. We have decided to release Rs 1 crore each towards Srirangapatna and Chamrajanagar Dasara celebrations”.

“The local talents will be given an opportunity in the cultural events. Along with that each day, one famous artist will be performing”, he added.

CM Bommai directed the commissioner of the Karnataka Information & Publicity Department to use the Mysuru Dasara logo extensively in advertisements, web portals, and social media platforms.

Meanwhile, he informed that expenses within the limits of Mysuru Palace would be looked after by the palace administration. Around Rs, 10 crore would be released from Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) towards beautification. The CSR funds would be utilized. The rest of the amount will be pooled by the government.
