Mysuru Dasara: All arrangements in place for ‘Jamboo Savari’, says Min S T Somashekhar

Mysuru: As the countdown for the world-famous “Jamboo Savari”, the centre of attraction during the Mysuru Dasara begins, this year on Wednesday, October 5, District In-charge Minister S T Somashekhar has assured of all necessary arrangements in place.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, October 4 he said, “This time, there will be 40 tableaux and several cultural teams participating in the gala event”.
“In terms of security arrangements, around 4000 police personnel have been deployed. Precautionary measures are also taken. A vehicle parking facility has also been made. Along the route of ‘Jamboo Savari’, seating arrangements for the public are kept ready. We are expecting between 15-20 lakh people attending the grand event”, he added.
On the question of pass distribution, the minister said, “There was no pass for any of the programmes, be it, Yuva Dasara, Raitha Dasara or Yuva Sambhrama. For ‘Jumboo savari’ event, the space we have got has been utilized to the maximum. Dasara is not just about pass distribution”.
Meanwhile, he informed that Governor of Karnataka Thawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, judges of the Karnataka High Court and other dignitaries are invited to the programme.
