Mysuru: Five arrested for smuggling ivory and antlers

Mysuru: A forest patrol squad arrested five persons for illegally carrying elephant tusks and deer antlers on two-wheelers on Wednesday, August 19.
The arrested have been identified as Abdul Razak, a resident of Gayatripuram; Nataraj from Tilak Nagar; Ravikumar from Agrahara; Gautam from Metagalliya and Vinod from Bengaluru’s Chandra Layout.
All five of them were arrested on Wednesday evening at the Ring Road near Abdul Kalam Nagar here by the patrol squad based on a tip-off that two two-wheelers are illegally transporting animal parts.
The squad seized all the parts and the vehicles.
