Mysuru: The friend of the gang-rape victim has reportedly said that the perpetrators had called her father and demanded Rs 3 lakh from him after the crime.
“I usually go to that place for a walk. On that day I was there with my friend. Four men suddenly came there and attacked us with sticks. They dragged my friend away while I fell unconscious,” she has said.
“One of them was standing next to me when I regained consciousness. He then called my father and demanded that he bring Rs 3 lakhs. I asked him about my friend. Then they brought her from a nearby bush and made her sit next to me. I saw she too had suffered injuries,” she added.
The gang rape allegedly took place at around 8 pm on Tuesday. The victim girl, a student, was sitting with her friend on a ditch on the Chamundi hills. At this time a group of drunk youths came there and attacked them both. The student was then taken away and gang-raped.
The girls’ friends arrived there and immediately informed the police when they saw them both injured. Both were admitted to the hospital.
An FIR has been registered at Alanahalli police station and police are on a hunt for the perpetrators.
