The forest department successfully captured a man-eater leopard that had killed four people in Mysuru’s T. Narasipur taluk.
The leopard had recently mauled to death an 11-year-old boy and an elderly woman. Taking note of the leopard attacks, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had instructed officials from the Forest department and Mysuru District Administration to constitute a task force to catch the feline.
After tracing the leopard’s hideout using a thermal drone camera, officials had installed over 20 camera traps and used cages to trap the wild cat. The efforts paid off on Wednesday night and the feline was captured near Horalhalli here.
