Mysuru: Prohibitory orders imposed around Rangayana

Mysuru: Following a protest called by various organizations, prohibitory orders have been imposed in a 200 meters radius around the Rangayana here on Tuesday.
City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh said in a release that the prohibitory orders under Section 144 will be in place from 6 am to 6 pm on January 10.
Alleging that former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was insulted in the ‘Sambhashiva’ play performed in Rangayana premises on December 31, Karnataka Rajya Kurubara Sangha, Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vedike and Congress leaders issued a call to gherao the Rangayana theatre.
As around 10 thousand people are said to have responded to the call, Section 144 has been imposed to prevent any untoward incident, police said.
If any organization or members of the public try to hold a protest march in violation of this order, legal action will be taken against them, the order said.
