Mysuru: School van crushes 1.5-year-old child to death

Mysuru: In a tragic incident a one-and-a-half-year-old boy was killed after being crushed under the wheels of a school van at Periyapatna on Saturday, July 2.

The boy has been identified as Mohammad Adam, son of Sadik Ahmed of Hadaganahalli here.

The mishap occurred at around 1.45 pm when the boy had gone out to welcome his cousin who was returning from school. The driver of the school vehicle failed to notice Adam standing on the left-hand side of the vehicle.

When the vehicle moved, Adam was crushed under the wheels and died on the spot, the police complaint by the parents said.

The parents blamed the driver’s negligence as the cause of the accident.

Bettadapura police have registered a case and have taken up investigation into the matter.
