Karnataka Govt orders temples to use Nandini Ghee

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has issued an order mandating the use of Nandini ghee in temples under the state’s Muzrai Department for all services and prasadam preparation. This decision comes in the wake of recent controversies surrounding the alleged “use of animal fat” in the preparation of laddus at the Tirupati temple.
The Muzrai Department Commissioner has issued a circular, instructing all temple officials to maintain the highest quality standards in the preparation of prasadam and to ensure that only pure Nandini ghee is used.
The directive applies to all designated temples under the Muzrai Department. It specifies that only Nandini ghee must be used for lighting lamps, preparing prasadam, and serving meals at temple kitchens (Dasoha Bhavan).
