Nanjangud: A head constable was arrested by the Hulahalli police for cheating a woman on the pretext of marrying her.

Krishna, a head constable at Hulahalli police station, met a woman named Gowramma and promised to marry her. Gowaramma then divorced her husband and started living with Krishna at Gokulam Nagar.

After 4 years, the couple often had fights and Krishna began staying away from her. Gowramma grew suspicious and upon enquiring, Gowramma found that Krishna had hidden the fact that he was already married to another woman.

Gowramma then went to meet him at his house and was assaulted by Krishna and his son. Locals admitted Gowramma to a nearby hospital and she later filed a complaint against Krishna at Hulahalli police station.

Superintendent of police R Chethan said that a DySP has been asked to inquire into the allegation and submit a report. Based on the findings, necessary action will be initiated against Krishna.
