Narendra Modi to inaugurate chiselled steps to Bahubali today

Hassan: PM Narendra Modi touched base in Mysuru on Sunday night to go to a gathering of programmes including the launch of the electrification of the railroad line between Mysuru and Bengaluru.

 Narendra Modi will signal off the Hum Safar Express connecting Mysuru and Udaipur and introduce the 661 recently chiselled steps at the rough Vindhyagiri Hill on which stands the world’s tallest monolithic statue of Bahubali, amid the progressing Mahamastkabhisheka Mahotsav-2018. Before the year 1910 Mahamastakabhisheka, Vindhyagiri Hill had no means to enable devotees reach to the Bahubali statue. For their benefit, a column of steps was etched in front of Mahamastakbhisheka-1910, says Ashok Kumar appended to Shravanabelagola Jain Mutt.

The PM was welcomed and received by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the airplane terminal. Security has been expanded in Mysuru where the Prime Minister will likewise partake in a mega BJP rally at the Maharaja’s College grounds. Modi will go in a helicopter from Lalitmahal helipad to go to the Mahamasthakabhisheka at Shravanabelagola and later touch base at JK grounds helipad to launch the electrification of the 138 km railroad line between Bengaluru and Mysuru, taken up at a cost of Rs 220 crore.

In the mean time, the Mysuru city coporation (MCC) appointed 300 workers for cleaning the roads and routes which would be taken by the PM, including washing of the roads. The solid waste treatment plant where more than 7 lakh tonne amounts of waste remains undisposed, is on the PM’s course from the airplane terminal on Nanjangud Road. Bio culture solutions were showered at various interims to keep the foul scent from spreading around.

Over a lakh people from Mysuru, Kodagu, Chamarajnagar, Mandya and Hassan is said to attend the party rally in Mysuru.
