National Deworming Day on Feb 10: District health officials gear up

Mangaluru: The Health and Family Welfare Department of the Dakshina Kannada district administration is all set for the National Deworming Day second phase to be observed on Monday, February 10.
About six lakh Albendazole 400mg tablets have been received by the district to be administered to children and teenagers in the age group 1 to 19 years. The tablets will be distributed by school and college teachers, Anganwadi and ASHA workers and the department’s staff.
The National Deworming Day campaign is conducted across the country to address the issue of malnutrition in children caused by worm infestation.
