Malpe: BJP National president Amith Shah gave call for the fisherman gathered at the fishermen conference at Malpe to vote and make B.S.Yeduyrappa, Karnataka’s next Chief Minister. This will help Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce a National Policy for Fisheries Development.
This new policy will include building new houses for fishermen, and the subsidy will be increased from 75000 to 1.2lacs.
Union Government has set aside a budget for comprehensive development of fisheries through Neelkranti or blue revolution master plan. Initiative to connecting Bunder’s with highways is already being implemented. Siddaramaiah’s government is preventing Union government to implement these developments in the state, accused Shah.
Similar to farmer credit card, fishermen credit card will be given. Credit to an extent of 15000 can be drawn through this card. Until now, the 19rs premium for 1lac rupees insurance will be upgraded to 20rs premium with 2lac insurance value are the few features of this new policy.
Yedyurappa said that the thoughts to add fishermen into schedule caste category will be taken. A memorandum on the same has already been submitted by G.Shankar to Amith Shah.
